Delhi - Amritsar - Varanasi - Jaipur - Agra - Delhi

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN DELHI

You will be greeted at the airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel
Overnight in Delhi.

DAY 2: DELHI VISIT

You will spend the day visiting Delhi’s major attractions including the Red Fort [exterior view only] and Humayan’s tomb. Try some of Delhi’s delectable famous street cuisine for lunch and explore the Old Delhi market by rickshaw. We will also take a heritage walking tour in Food Street and the Spice market.Delve into the antiquated maze of organised chaos of Chandni chowk. Explore ParantheWaliGali. The atmosphere here in the old part of Delhi is filled with high pitched shouts of shop owners articulated bartering and chaos from the maze of busy alleyways as porters carrying sacks and boxes to the roads to await transport. As the world goes by, you will be drawn by the aromas of stuffed parathas being dipped into a large cauldrons, where they emerge golden and beautifully transformed. Hard to resist a snack at this point.

DAY 3: DELHI - AMRITSAR [BY FLIGHT]

Today be transferred to the airport for a flight bound for Amritsar.
After the sun lays its head to weary rest a visit to the golden temple is a requisite to see the spiritual structure lit luminously in its golden aura.

Optional Activity: Instead of flight enjoy morning train ride to Amritsar.

DAY 4: AMRITSAR

After breakfast delve into Amritsar with a tour of the Sikh Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib).  Not singularly the central religious place of the Sikhs, but also a symbol of human brotherhood and equality. Everybody, irrespective of cast, creed or race can seek spiritual solace and religious fulfilment without any hindrance or prejudice. A tour of the kitchen where they work tirelessly to feed freely the masses is nothing short of a miraculous feat. Then a visit to the Jallianwala Bagh the historic garden in the memory of those wounded and killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that occurred on the site on the festival of Vaisakhi, 13 April 1919.You can still see the bullet holes in the walls as a harsh reminder of the saddened event that took place where you’ll stand.

A drive to witness the Wagah Border Ceremony in all its pomp and glory. This daily friendly military parade has been ongoing since 1959 between Pakistan and India. The crowd goes wild as the comradely atmosphere escalates into colourful dance and cheer.

DAY 5: AMRITSAR - DELHI - VARANASI [BY FLIGHT]

You will be transferred to the airport today, for a connecting flight via Delhi bound for the mythical captivations of the holy city of Varanasi. Check into the hotel. Rest of the day to explore the surroundings and all city.
Overnight in Varanasi.

DAY 6: VARANASI

After breakfast, your guide will take you on an intriguing walking tour of the unrivalled mythical city. With its Ghats, monasteries and shrines blanketed in spirituality, rituals, fascination and curiosity around every twist and turn of this city’s narrow lanes. Enjoy a boat ride at river Ganga to get the astounding view from the mystical healing waters. Observe the life of people who come to take a holy bath in river Ganga. A visit to Sarnath where the lord Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment.

In the evening head to the banks of the sacred Ganga to be hypnotised into the flickering lights of the candles whirling where the spiritual aarti ceremony will captivate your curiosities.
Overnight in Varanasi.

DAY 7: VARANASI - JAIPUR [BY FLIGHT]

Transferred today to the airport with for a flight to Jaipur.

This afternoon you have the opportunity to rest or a visit an elephant sanctuary that strive on the care of these abandoned post circus victims. The sanctuary allows visitors to experience the knowledge of these colossal mammals. The sanctuary is a loving caring environment that houses the mammoth beauties in their own homes with their very own carer and his family on the property. You can have an opportunity for a cuddle and to paint an elephant (all natural derived non harmful paint). The elephants respond delightfully to what they consider a massage with the brushes.

DAY 8: JAIPUR

After breakfast it’s off to explore the enchanting Pink City. The harmonious consolidation of old and new propitiously comforted over Jaipur’s shoulders like that old favourite jacket that’s buttons have since been replaced with a modern zipper. It still has the same feel, it’s just more functional. The regal bygone opulent era merged with modernity gently stirred not shaken created this appetizer of a city. Enough to drown the thirst of any traveller with its vast array of offerings. The perfect cocktail of past and present will leave you astonishingly in admiration of the countries first planned city.

You will visit the famous Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace), Amber Palace and Water Palace. An optional stroll through the Old City, giving you an opportunity to maximise you’re understanding about Jaipur and experience the hidden corners of this captivating city. Your guide will take you through the vibrant bazaars and lanes that interweave the Old City in a lattice patchwork of inspiration. You will have the opportunity to interact with locals and try some of the delectable street food delicacies of Rajasthani cuisine.

Overnight in Jaipur.

DAY 9: JAIPUR - AGRA

After breakfast, a drive to Agra. Along the way a stop to visit the former imperial city of Fatehpur Sikri and the perfect triangular symmetry of the 3500 steps over 13 floors of the abandoned Abhaneri stepwell.  On arrival in Agra a visit to Akbar’s tomb at Sikandra. In the evening, a stroll around the Sadar Bazar to sample the delectable street food renown in the area.

DAY 10: AGRA

After breakfast visit to the undoubtedly most romantic burial site in the entire world, The Taj Mahal. It was built by Shah Jahan as a token of his love for his deceased wife and has gleamingly stood since showcasing his affections immortalised in time. A visit to the Agra fort, Mehtab Garden and the ‘Baby Taj’ the exquisite tomb of Mirza Ghiyas. Agra fort built by Akbar. It was the main residence of Mughal emperors Akbar and Shahjahan. You will visit palaces and mosques in this massive fort.

DAY 11: AGRA - DELHI AIRPORT

Today a transfer to Agra airport for a flight to Delhi to your outbound connecting flight. If you would prefer an extra night in Delhi, we can arrange this and transfer you to Delhi airport at a later date.
